Jennifer Ann Strom

Jennifer A. Strom, 54, of Johnston, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, January 3, 2024.

Visitation for Jennifer will be Thursday, January 11, 2024, from 12 Noon - 4:00 PM at Simplify Cremations & Funerals, 4821 SW 9th Street, Des Moines, IA.

Jennifer was born December 2, 1969, in St. Louis Park, MN, the daughter of John and Ruth (Klein) Koscielski.  She grew up and graduated in the Minneapolis area.  After graduation, she received her Cosmetology License from the State of Minnesota and soon made her way down to Iowa.  That is where she met her partner for life and began her new journey.

Jennifer was united in marriage to Rod Strom in 1999.  She was a beloved mother, daughter, sister and friend, and was always eager to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it.  She especially enjoyed working with the elderly, children, and had a strong love of animals.

Jennifer enjoyed gardening, cooking, collecting "stuff", and Friday night driveway get togethers with the "Timberwood gang".  She will be remembered for her infectious smile, quirky sense of humor and big heart.

Jennifer is survived by her husband, Rod and her daughter, Sophie, both of Johnston; her parents, John Koscielski of AZ and Ruth Chancellor of FL; her "bonus children", Sara (Brady) Strom of Des Moines, AJ (Tyne) Strom of Des Moines, and Emily (Taylor) Strom of Ankeny; her three granddaughters, Harper, Kennedy and Ella; her brother, Cory (Cassie) Koscielski and nephews Wyatt and Liam of MN; sister-in-law, Diane (John) Yaw; her two step-brothers, Randy and Todd, and the countless number of friends she has made along the way.

She was preceded in death by her paternal and maternal grandparents.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family for their use to be determined at a later date.
