Jeffery Allen Hickcox, lovingly known as Jeff, passed away Sunday, October 16th, 2026, surrounded by the love and memories of family and friends. He was a man of great humor, loyalty, and kindness whose presence brought laughter and comfort to those fortunate enough to know him.
Jeff was born on November 11, 1968, to Fred and Norma Hickcox. He shared a special bond with his beloved wife, Charman Hickcox Hanagan, whom he often described as "a good woman" and someone he could always trust.
He was a proud father to his daughter, Kristina Hickcox, and his son, Matthew Hickcox (Olivia). Nothing brought Jeff greater joy than being a grandfather to Courtney Ann, Alexis Marie, Elenora Dawn, and Lillian Louise, who held a special place in his heart.
Jeff is also survived by his brothers, Danny (Tammy) Hickcox, Tom (Cathy) Hickcox, David (Rosemary) Hickcox, and Bill Hickcox (Twan); his sister, Fran Lyons (Rick); Pam and his faithful fur buddy, Zeus.
Throughout his career, Jeff worked as a machine operator at Elder, where he eventually retired. He was also the proud owner of J&A Carpeting, building a reputation for hard work and dedication.
An avid outdoorsman, Jeff found peace and happiness on the water. He especially loved fishing and ice fishing, with Dulac, Louisiana, being his favorite fishing destination. Many treasured memories were made fishing alongside his son Matthew and his brothers Danny and David. He also looked forward to family vacations at Lake Amelia, Minnesota, where laughter, stories, and family traditions were shared year after year.
Jeff cherished time spent with his family and his close-knit group of friends, Baker, Chris, Tony, and Corbin. He was also grateful for the friendship and support of Donna, who stood by him through many of life's trials and challenges.
Those who knew Jeff will remember his quick wit and ability to make people laugh. He was a proud man with a heart of gold who always looked out for others and made sure the people around him were cared for. Above all, he loved his family deeply and treasured every moment spent creating memories with them.
A devoted fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Kansas City Chiefs, Jeff rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on his favorite teams.
Jeff's legacy lives in the stories shared, the laughter remembered, and the love he gave so freely. He will be deeply missed and forever loved by all who knew him.
"A life measured not by the years lived, but by the love shared and memories made."
