Jeanna Ranae Wichert, of Altoona, Iowa, passed away at the age of 59.
Jeanna was born on May 13, 1967, in Spencer, Iowa. She grew up in Spencer, and later earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Northern Iowa.
Throughout a career spanning more than 35 years, Jeanna dedicated herself to serving others. She began her career as a program coordinator before becoming a director of operations. Her professional journey included work at The Village in Sheldon, Iowa, and most recently at Carebase in Ankeny, Iowa. Through her work, Jeanna touched countless lives with her dedication, compassion, and commitment to those she served.
Jeanna found joy in life's everyday treasures. She recently developed a passion for growing peppers and eagerly checked on them each day. She loved listening to all kinds of music-the louder, the better. An enthusiastic thrift shopper, Jeanna delighted in searching for unique finds and discovering new "treasures."
Jeanna is survived by her husband, Andrew Lee Wichert; her children, Chance Richter and Kaci Richter and her sister, Jen Mitchell. She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Barbara Wilbur; stepfather, Burryl Campbell; and her brother, Jeff.
Jeanna will be remembered for her devotion to family, her many years of service to others, and the enthusiasm she brought to the things she loved. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
