Jared Michael Baumann, 39, of Zearing, Iowa passed away on Thursday September 19, 2024.

Jared was born on September 1, 1985 in Cedar Rapids, IA. He graduated from Mt. Mercy College and had taken advanced level online courses in his field of Computer Technology. Jared was employed as the National Veterinary Services Laboratories Program Support Assistant at the USDA in Ames, Iowa at the time of his death where he received multiple awards & promotions. Jared also owned Electronics by JB LLC , selling products and services locally and internationally.

Jared is survived by his mother Christine Fay Tibesar, stepfather Ed Tibesar, brothers Joseph W. Baumann (Jillian Hernan), Violet, Oliver & Sonny, Lucas J. Baumann (Miriam Grinstein), Noam, Shayna & Selah, stepbrothers Dr. Eric Tibesar, Damon Tibesar and families , best friend Megan Burg Schultz (Kyle), as well as many beloved cousins, aunts, uncles and friends. Special mention of Jared's "little buddy" Tyggs, his cat. He was preceded in death by his father James W. Baumann, grandparents Willie and Dorthy Baumann and John W. and Edna Fay, aunts Kathy and Diane Fay and uncle Michael J. Fay.

Jared's spiritual home was St. Gabriel Catholic parish in Zearing.

His funeral Mass will be celebrated by Fr Richmond Dezkoe on Saturday, October 12 at 10 am at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in State Center, 610 3rd St SW, State Center, IA., with a Celebration of Life & dinner to follow in their hall. Jared will be buried in Pinhook Cemetery 1200-1298 County Hwy V48, rural Sumner, Iowa on Sunday Oct. 13 at 3pm with Father Richmond doing a graveside blessing.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated by Jared's childhood priest, Fr. Mark Osterhaus at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, 1224 5th St SE, Cedar Rapids, IA. on Friday October 18 at 1 pm with a reception afterwards downstairs.

Jared was a remarkable and heartfelt individual who gave unconditionally to his family, friends, and coworkers. His generosity knew no bounds, and he inspired everyone around him to give as well. Jared's leadership in projects like Feed the Feds, Toys for Tots, and the Combined Federal Campaign resulted in a 51% increase in funds raised compared to the previous year, showcasing his ability to rally and motivate others. Jared also gave a percentage of all of his personal electronics LLC sales to charity.

Jared's co-workers have described him as passionate for the work he did, hard-working yet humble, honest, intelligent, autonomous, tech-savvy, and engaged. Jared was respectful and a friend to everyone and will be greatly missed by his Diagnostics and Biologics family.

Beyond his professional achievements, Jared was a cherished son, brother, uncle and friend whose kindness and dedication touched the lives of many. His contributions and presence created a lasting impact that will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
