Jane Ellen Smith

Jane Ellen Smith, 70, of Des Moines, Iowa, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2025. She was born on February 4, 1955, in Des Moines to Jayell and Geraldine (née Davis) Bos and grew up in Altoona, Iowa.

Jane married the love of her life, Donald Smith, and together they built a life filled with laughter, adventure, and shared passions. She enjoyed assisting Donald with his business selling carnival novelties, taking great joy in the fun and excitement it brought to others. In her free time, Jane loved playing board games, always ready for a friendly challenge and a good conversation.

Jane will be remembered for her warm spirit, her love of games, and the joy she found in simple pleasures. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness and cherished memories for all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband, Donald; children, Randy Woods and Bobbi Woods-Flannery; step-children, Tony Smith, Mike Smith and Jeff Smith; sisters, Gina, Jackie and Jody; and brothers Gaylen and Gary.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Janelle.

A celebration of Jane's life will be held at a later date.
