James A. Mayfield

James Andrew Mayfield, 57, of Des Moines, died Sunday, September 18, 2022, at the Broadlawns Medical Center in Des Moines.

There will be a Celebration of Life in October.

James was born March 14, 1965, in Charles City, the son of Orley John & Margaret (Cole) Mayfield, Jr.

He was a mechanic for Jiffy Lube for 16 years.

James enjoyed fishing, working on cars and conversing with his friends.

He is survived by his two children, Devon James Mayfield and Elizabeth Mayfield; his siblings, Katherine Caldwell, John (Connie) Maier, Margo (Tom) Lind, Brenda Gray, Sharon Sterk; many nieces, nephews and friends.

James is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Dwayne Sterk.
