Jacob (Jake) James Guile, 66, passed away Friday, March 8th, 2024, at Methodist Hospital with his family by his side.
Jake was born December 27th, 1957, to Beverly and Jacob Guile in Des Moines, Iowa.
Jake was an avid fisherman who loved the outdoors, camping and traveling. He loved watching NASCAR races and cheering for the Packers. Most of all he loved his family and friends. Spending time with them was everything to him.
Jake enjoyed manual labor. He worked siding for many years. One of his favorite places to work was Freeman Decorating Company where he set up trade shows and gave him the opportunity to travel for work. He liked to build things and work on cars.
Jake married the love of his life, Diana, on September 3rd, 1977, and had an amazing life together. Together they had 5 beautiful children, Tanya, Keli, Lisa, Jacob, and Jessi.
He is survived by his wife, Diana; children Tanya (Kevin), Keli (Kyle), Lisa (David), Jacob, and Jessi (Travis); 19 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter; sisters Marie (Frank), Polly (Harlan), Sandy; sister-in-law Becky; brother-in-laws Denny and Gary and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother Beverly, father Jacob, stepmother Rosemary, brother Joe, sister Sheri, father-in-law Richard, and mother-in-law Shirley.
Jake will be remembered for his huge heart of gold and witty sense of humor.
Services will be held at Walnut Creek Church Downtown on Friday March 22, 2024. Visitation from 12:00 - 1:00 pm
Memorial Service at 1:00 pm with food afterwards.
