Jackie Harland Lewis

July 6, 1951 — October 26, 2025

Jackie Harland Lewis, age 74, passed away on October 26, 2025.

Jackie was born on July 6, 1951, to Jerry and Juliana Lewis. After high school, he proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps beginning July 1, 1970. After his service, he spent his career as a tire builder, a trade he took great pride in.

Jackie was a longtime member of the Moose Lodge, which he joined in 2019, and the American Legion. He enjoyed the outdoors-especially fishing and hunting-and loved to horseback ride with his kids back in the day. A man of strong faith, Jackie had a tradition of attending church every Saturday with his mom, and continued even after her passing. He was known for his sense of humor, his love of joking around, and his ability to talk with just about anyone.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerry and Juliana Lewis, and his brother, Larry Lewis.

Jackie is survived by his sons, Jack (Alicia) Lewis and David (Jacob) Aulif; grandchildren Harlie Osborne, Cassie Barton, and Delaney Lewis; and many more beloved family members and friends.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Highland Memorial Gardens (1 NE 60th Ave, Des Moines, IA 50313), and all are welcome to attend.
