Jacinta Lucille Williams was born in Des Moines, Iowa July 13, 1950, to James Edward Smith, Sr. and Agnes Louise Williams. Jacinta, lovingly nicknamed Cynthia, was raised in Des Moines and graduated from Tech High School.
Jacinta was employed by Polk County, ILoNA Financial Group, and Bankers Trust, where she eventually retired.
Jacinta was married to William Edward Jewett, and from that union they welcomed Jamie and Jodi. She later opened her heart to three more children-Taffini, Ashley, and William II-whom she loved just as fiercely and bossed around just as equally.
Jacinta loved R&B music, dancing like no one was watching (even though everyone definitely was), reading Danielle Steele novels, and conquering every word-search puzzle that dared challenge her. She was famous for cracking jokes that were absolutely hilarious... at least to her. And her sarcasm? Olympic level. Truly unmatched.
Family gatherings were her favorite-mostly because it gave her an audience. She always had something smart to say, whether you were ready for it or not.
She swore up and down she would never act like her mother, Agnes... but of course the apple didn't fall far from the tree. Now the two of them are probably up there laughing, shaking their heads, and talking back to the angels. May they rest in peace together-with plenty of side comments.
Jacinta was a praying woman and always, kept her family covered in prayer. She accepted Jesus at an early age at Corinthian Baptist Church.
December 2, 2025, Jacinta transitioned from this earthly world to glory. She was welcomed by her parents, James and Agnes; grandparents, Sexton and Pearl Dudley; and Uncle Richard "Cowboy" Williams and her "wife-in-law, Terry "Chic" Jewett.
Left to cherish Jacinta's memory are her children, Jamie (Charles) Sinnah-Yovonie, Jodi Jewett-Thompson, Danette Hester, Taffini (Gerald) Young, Ashley Jewett, William Jewett; brothers James Smith, Jr. and Brett (Kris) Jones; sister-in-love, Linda Jewett; grandchildren Brittnay Jewett, Darren Coleman, Mark Carter, II, Taylor (Marlon) Kennedy, Daziona Jewett, Conner Coleman, Kennesha Jewett and Jaimelle Slaughter; great-grandchildren: Sienna Jewett, Tyson Wells, Jr., Brooklynne Coleman, Wynona Reano, Kaeryn Reano, Taevion Browne, Julian Jewett, Taylynn Kennedy, Dallace Coleman, Karter Lovejoy, Ta'Veah Browne, Brayden Jewett, Kxade Kennedy, Tonjay Hayes, Jr, Amaris McQuerry; and a host of extended family and friends.
