Irma Lee Watkins

Irma Lee Watkins, 83 of Osceola, passed away unexpectedly on October 9, 2024 at her home in Osceola, Iowa. Per Irma's wishes, she will be cremated, and the family will hold a celebration of life at a later date.

Born on May 18, 1941, in Osceola, Iowa, the daughter of Art and Gladys (Alley) Weaklend. She lived a full and meaningful life, filled with family, faith, and service to her community. Her involvement with the First Christian Church and the Clarke County Historical Museum shows her dedication to her hometown and its history. She was a homemaker who loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her son, Billy Watkins (Gloria Manney) of Norwalk, Iowa; daughter, Beverly Vance of Winterset; 14 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Gary (Vickie) Weaklend of Boone, Iowa and Dennis Weaklend of West Des Moines, Iowa; sister-in-law, Becky Weaklend of Clear Lake, Iowa; a host of other relatives and friends.

Irma was preceded in death by her parents; her biological father, Abe Sharpe; husband, Bill Watkins; children: Roxanne Stephenson, Brian Watkins, and Dale Watkins who passed away on the same day as Irma did; brother, Larry Weaklend; and sister-in-law, Doris Weaklend.
