Gary Cooksey

Gary Cooksey passed away March 12, 2025. Gary fought health issues head on with strength, fierce determination with the love, commitment, and care of his soul mate Sheryl Leto. Gary passed away peacefully at home.

From a young age Gary enjoyed working and tinkering on cars and small engines. If there was a car show Gary and Sheryl were there in whatever rat-rod Gary had at the time. Gary would not sleep the night before Good Guys–he had to get in line to get a good spot. Gary was the "fixer" of all things for April and Kelsey. Gary supported his niece and nephew at sporting events while they were growing up. "Papa" Gary kept busy and on his toes with three grandchildren. Gary enjoyed every minute with them.

Gary is survived by the love of his life Sheryl Leto and stepdaughters April Leto and Kelsey Leto (grandchildren Payton, Pearl, and Jag); Sisters Pamela Cooksey (Rick Scarr); Carrie Neal (Tim): Niece Jennifer Neal (Zach Duitscher) and Nephew Erik Scarr. He was preceded in death by his parents Bill and JoAnna Cooksey.
