Franklin Joseph Lumley passed away on April 14, 2025 in Urbandale, Iowa at the age of 76. Born on December 3, 1948, Frank lived a life marked by simple joys which brought him happiness.
He leaves behind his wife, Mary Crookshank Lumley, son, Aaron Lumley (Laura Wagner) of Fort Collins, CO; and his daughter, Carrie Lumley of Urbandale. Franklin was a proud grandfather to Kaia and Jaxon Dotson and Christine and William Wagner-Ertz. He also leaves behind a great-grandson, Guyan Wilson. His brother, Alonzo Lumley (John Findlow), survive him along with many nieces and nephews who held a special place in his heart.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Leona and Harold Lumley as well as his brothers and sisters, Nancy, Colleen, Richard, Robert, Carl, James, and Constance.
Throughout his life, Frank found joy in everyday moments- whether it was sipping on Diet Pepsi while watching ME TV or taking the wheel for countless family road trips. He had a deep affection for dogs and cherished the companionship of his beloved pets over the years. Above all else, he treasured cooking and time spent with family.
We will miss his random jokes, having a "Coke" and talk moments, and the very loud television.
May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him.
We will hold a celebration of life at a later date.
Frank's family would like to send our most sincere gratitude to Royal Oaks Care Facility where he was given amazing care. They also gave family peace of mind and support. Our gratitude is also extended to the amazing staff of St. Croix Hospice which gave all of us loving care and spiritual guidance. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Croix Hospice, 1555 SE Delaware Avenue, Suite Q, Ankeny, IA 50021 or The Animal Rescue League of Iowa.
