If you are reading this obituary it means my time on earth has come to an end, taking my last breath on Friday, April 25, 2025. But my journey continues to Heaven and being with our Lord Jesus and past family and friends.
I was born on Christmas Day 1960 to Dwayne and Zoe Ann Bacon in Guthrie Center Iowa. We moved to Des Moines in 1965 and have continued to live here since. Attended Saydel Community School District, graduating in 1979.
I went to work for the State of Iowa as a seasonal employee for the Iowa Department of Revenue. Was hired as full time and continued my career with 42 years of service, ending at the Iowa Department of Natural Resources. Did stints with Secretary of State, DOT, Inspections & Appeals.
I was never married but do have 1 son, Connar. The biggest and best part of me and my life. I also leave behind my best friend, Tiger, my rescue cat. You will truly be missed.
I grew up as the middle child and those I leave behind are my son, Connar, my brothers Marty, Anthony and Addison, all of Des Moines (Saylor Township) and their wives Barbie, Pat and Sonya. Several nieces and nephews. Those who went before me were my parents Dwayne & Zoe Ann Bacon, my sister Evonne, my grandparents Joe & Wilma Bacon and Harold & Thelma Griffin. Several uncles and aunts on both sides of the family.
I will be buried at Pine Hill Cemetery, overlooking the valley I grew up in and around. Close to where I loved hunting mushrooms. I invite you to come sit on the hillside enjoying our beautiful sunsets, reminiscing about our time together and the memories you have of us. I'll be there listening, laughing and crying alongside you. Until we meet again in Heaven, enjoy your time on earth as I have enjoyed spending time with all my family and friends. God Bless You!
