Edward Wheeler

Edward Jacob (Jake) Wheeler, 42 of Newton Iowa passed away on April, 5 2024. Jake grew up in Iowa and was a graduate of Newton Community High School. Jake had a variety of careers throughout his life, he loved working with people and working with his hands. Jake enjoyed working on cars, working with computers, telling jokes and making people laugh, spending time with friends (he never met a stranger).

Jake was a kind soul with a big heart, who was sensitive to the feelings and needs of others. He loved helping others and was the first to show up when help was needed, no matter the time of day. Jake loved unconditionally and judged no-one.

He was preceded in death by his Grandparents Frank Ver Heul and Darlyne Snook (Ver Heul), Grandparents Edward & Bonita Wheeler. He is survived by his Mother Susan Wheeler, Father Edward Wheeler, Sister Mackenzie Casey (Chris, Will and Troy), Uncles Jeff (Ann) VerHeul, Luke VerHeul and many cousins and second cousins.

A celebration of life will be held in Newton Iowa this summer for friends and family to attend. In lieu of flowers please consider donating to Broadlawns Medical Center to their Mental Health Services or the American Humane Society.
