Dwight Evertt March III, 52, of Des Moines, Iowa, passed away suddenly on August 31, 2024. He was born on September 4, 1971 to Dwight E. March, II and Mary (Chandler) March in Danville, IL. While a teenager, Dwight moved to Gulf Breeze, Florida where he excelled at baseball, winning multiple trophies and championships for Gulf Breeze High School.

Dwight moved back to Danville, IL after High School. In his later years, Dwight worked hard to create a better life for his family. Moving to Jefferson City, Missouri, he worked hard to build a solid future by becoming a Sheet Metal Journeyman through Local 36. He eventually transferred to Local 45 in Des Moines, IA for more opportunities.

Dwight loved sports, especially college basketball and college football. He was a huge Cubs fan and reveled when they won the World Series attending the celebrations with his son (Dwight E. March IV) in Chicago, IL. He also enjoyed playing golf. He had a big heart and was a fun-loving person who would do anything for his family and friends.

Dwight E. March III was predeceased by his father (Dwight E. March, II) mother (Mary Chandler March), sisters Susan Catherine March, Cynthia (Cindy) Masulis, sister-in-law, Debbie March, and brothers Greg March and Richard March. He is survived by his son, Dwight E. March IV (Olivia Kinney), granddaughter Zara March, stepson, Damion Bettes, step-daughter, Victoria Bettes (Trey Anderson), grandson, Elliott Anderson, brother, Doug March, sister Teresa Pilkington, brothers Stephen March, Raymond March, Brad (Nikki) March, brother-in-law William (Butch) Masulis, as well as many nieces, nephews, ex-wife (Brandy March) his dogs (Lilly, Max, Oreo and Reese), best friend Brandon Benshoof, and many other friends and family including two unborn grandchildren.

A private family viewing will be held at Simplify Cremations and Funerals in Des Moines, IA. A celebration of life will be held at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery in Danville, IL from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a local animal shelter as Dwight E. March III was fond of animals, mainly his precious dogs.
