Dixie Jane Moll

Dixie Jane (Hutzel) Moll, 61, of Des Moines, Iowa, went to her Heavenly home on March 19, 2024 after a five-year battle with ovarian cancer. She was born to Gary Lee Hutzel and Dixie Lee Hutzel in Des Moines on July 9, 1962.

Dixie worked in the hotel industry for many years and for Tone's Spices in Ankeny. Her family was extremely important to her, as well as her strong Faith in God. She loved collecting willow tree decorations and angels, reading, sunbathing, music and going to thrift stores and garage sales. Though she faced many trials in her life, she always had a smile and a fighting spirit to get her through. She had a kind and caring nature and had many people who loved her and will greatly miss her.

She is survived by her daughter, Kari Moll, Des Moines; son, Josh Moll, Pekin, IL; ex-husband, Jerry Moll and three grandchildren: Daxton Dean Moll, 4; Ryilynn Elizabeth Moll, 6; and Isabelle Ann Hyde, 13; whom she loved with all her heart. She is also survived by her sisters, Vickie Simmons, Indianola; Debbie Harrison, Des Moines; Melanie Current, Pleasant Hill; Tammie Wood, West Des Moines; and Jeannie Wonderlin, Madrid. She was preceded in death by her parents Gary Lee (2009), Dixie Lee (2016) and her brother Gary Delbert Hutzel (2020).

Before her passing, it was her wish to raise money for the cause "Together in Teal" sponsored by the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition in 2023. She wanted to walk with others who were also suffering from or in memory of those who had lost their lives to this dreaded disease. She was determined to cross over the finish line and she did! She never complained once.

Cremation has already taken place and no services are planned at this time. Her family will gather at a later date for a memorial in her honor.
