Dennis Lee Stewart

Dennis Lee Stewart, 79, of Gilman, died Wednesday, February 15, 2023, at the Serenity Hospice House in Oskaloosa.

Dennis was born November 20, 1943, in Colfax, IA, the son of Charles & Rosslyn (Bowie) Stewart.  He married Vickie Jean Hashman on October 19, 1963.  She passed away on July 21, 2022.

Dennis was a Senior Sales Associate for Fisher Controls in Marshalltown for 32 years.

He loved chasing after trades or good deals...mainly revolving around classic cars, vintage shotguns, old watches, antique furniture, tractors and mowers.  Dennis was extremely proud of his three children and all their accomplishments.  He also adored the large Colonial-style home that he and Vickie lived in for 50 years in Gilman, Iowa.  The two of them had several mini-schnauzer dogs over their later years that they loved dearly.

Survivors include two sons, Bryan M. Stewart of Ottumwa and Christopher C. Stewart of Des Moines; grandchildren, Breanna (Tyler) Sawyer, Devyn (Caitlin) Stewart, Blake Stewart, Dane (Meredith) Vanderbilt, Dara Vanderbilt, Dacey Vanderbilt, Drake Vanderbilt, Deja Vanderbilt, Dekan Vanderbilt, Denton Vanderbilt, Demi Vanderbilt and Christian Stewart; great-grandchildren, Emily and Kate Sawyer and Bo Henry Stewart.

He is preceded in death by his wife; daughter, Sara Ann Stewart and his parents.
