Denise Ann Thacker

Denise Ann Thacker, beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away

Friday, August 8, 2025, at the age of 69. She was surrounded by her loving family at

Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa.

Born October 1, 1955, in Des Moines, Iowa to Edith "Jane" (Bowman) and Charles

"Chod" Thomas. Denise graduated from East High School in 1974.

Throughout her life, Denise was a source of unwavering love to her family and friends.

She made everyone around her feel special, just by being with her. She had an

uncanny ability to reach people in a deep and positive way. Denise found pleasure in

the simple things in life; family gatherings, bargain shopping, and shared her love of

watching scary movies with her children and grandchildren.

Denise is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth (Eddie) Bosley and Amanda Thacker,

both of Des Moines, Iowa; her grandchildren Ryan, Mary, Emily, Zoey and Giovanni;

brothers John Thomas of Red Feather Lakes, CO and Chuck (Deanna) Thomas of Des

Moines, IA; and nephews Joe, Kevin, Nathan and Brian. She was preceded in death by

her parents, Jane and Chod Thomas, John's wife Julie, and Chuck's daughter Kristine.

The family is planning a celebration of life at a later date.
