Deena Dake

Deena Marie Dake, 67, of Des Moines, Iowa passed away on Friday March 22, 2024 surrounded by her family. A Celebration of Life is being planned for a later date.

Deena was born January 1, 1957 at General Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa to George and Geraldine "Gerry" (Toney) Hood. She graduated from East High School in 1975. Deena loved working at H&R Block. She had several hobbies, crocheting, reading a good book, diamond painting, playing on her phone. Most of all Deena loved being with her family especially the great grandchildren.

Deena is survived by her children, Shelly (Richard) Green, Cortney Van Haaften, Carrie Dake (Jack Cedeno) and Augusta (David) Marshall. Her grandchildren, Amber Green (Dave Nelson), Jessica (Daniel) Hall, Brandie Van Haaften (Austin Andrews), Jacob Hall, Erik Alfson (Maygun Stufflebeam), Mason Marshall, Jadon Reben, Alivia Reben, Kori Reben, Christopher Messamer, and Nevaeh Green. Her great grandchildren, Isaac Hall, Paisley Van Haaften, Harlee Van Haaften, Adalynn Van Haaften, Chloe Hall, Jacob Hall, Charlotte Alfson, and Waylon Andrews. Her siblings, Vickie (Gary) Sherzan, Donald (Sue) Hood, Deborah (Terry) Aldridge, Robert Hood, Rebekah Blair, Paula (Jerry) Hackett, David (Debbie) Hood.

Deena was preceded in death by her parents George and Gerry Hood and her brother George Hood Jr.
