Debra "Debby" Kay Robertson, age 69, of Des Moines, Iowa, passed away peacefully at her home on June 6, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
Debby was born on January 21, 1957, in Des Moines, Iowa, to John Davis and Margie Kay Cooper. She spent her life caring for others and creating meaningful connections with those around her. On August 24, 2002, she married the love of her life, Lenny Robertson, in Des Moines, beginning a marriage filled with companionship, laughter, and devotion.
For many years, Debby worked in the hospitality industry, where her warm personality and genuine desire to help others made a lasting impression on coworkers and guests alike. She had a kind heart and found joy in lending a helping hand whenever someone was in need.
Above all else, Debby cherished her family. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and the memories they shared together will remain treasured forever. She enjoyed crocheting, watching her favorite television shows, listening to music, and collecting all kinds of cute treasures. Debby also had a special fondness for pigs.
A deeply spiritual woman, Debby found inspiration in Native American culture and beliefs. She appreciated their teachings, respect for nature, and sense of connectedness, which brought her comfort and guidance throughout her life.
Those left to cherish her memory include her beloved husband, Lenny Robertson; her seven children; eleven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers in Indiana; one brother and two sisters in Arizona; and many other relatives and friends whose lives she touched with her kindness and compassion.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Davis and Margie Kay Cooper; her other dads, Don Newton and Willie Tutrow; one sister; and several other loved ones.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Mercy Hospice for the compassionate care, support, and comfort they provided during Debby's final journey.
