Debra Oliver

Debra Sue Oliver 69 of Bondurant, IA gained her Angel wings on Wednesday November 23rd at Methodist Hospital from a battle with cancer.

She was born on February 9th 1953 to Beverly (Smith) Hicks and Ronald Hicks from Waukee, IA. She graduated from Waukee High School in 1971. She married Charles Leo Oliver Jr. on September 15th, 1972 and moved to Bondurant where they had 2 children, Tammy Lynn Oliver and Michael Dean Oliver.They enjoyed 18 years together and made lots of memories. She retired from Methodist Hospital after being there for 32 years. She was a receptionist for Radiology and Neucular Medicine. Everyone would stop to say hello and see her smile. She was proud of all her grandchildren and provided a safe home for them. She always had an open door and a big heart for all her friends and family. She loved family gatherings especially when she got to show them off. She enjoyed dancing until she could no longer stand and walk. It was always "I got to have my coffee first thing in the morning". She loved having her monthly lunches with her coworkers from Methodist and Lady's Breakfast Club with her friends. She most certainly loved her girl time with her best friend/neighbor for over 40 years.

She is survived by her 2 children Tammy Oliver-Harmon and Michael (Cindy) Oliver, her little sister Teresa Storey, 7 grandchildren, London (Josh) Friedmeyer, Wyatt Oliver, Ashton (Patrick) Drake, McKenzie Oliver, Ashleigh Drake, Alexis Oliver, and Kane Thornton, 1 great granddaughter Brindlee Shafer and 1 great grandbaby boy on the way. She is preceded in death by both her parents and her son-in-law Ricky Harmon.

A visitation will be held from 11:00am-1:00pm Thursday, December 1st, 2022 with a service to follow at Simplify Cremations and Funerals.
