David Lee Breuklander

David Lee Breuklander 07/09/1952-04/11/2026

Dave was born to Warren & Betty Breuklander in Des Moines, Iowa on 07/09/1952. He grew up with his sibling: Barbara, Janet, Brian, and Karen on the Eastside of Des Moines. His hobbies included Lake life at Ponderosa, fishing, hunting, camping, playing cards, and yes, his trips to Prairie Meadows. He spent his life surrounded by family and friends. He loved a good party, cold beer, a smoke, and having a good time with friends.

He graduated from Des Moines Technical High School in 1972. He was drafted to the Army and stationed at Fort Still, Oklahoma. His careers also included working for the Railroad, The Weitz Co., and Maholivich Plumbing.

On May 19, 1973 he married Jeanne Sackett and they raised 2 Sons: Charles Lee & Christopher Lee. Dave had a second marriage to Wanita Breuklander.

Chuck shared his favorite memories are with family at Lake Ponderosa and Chris shared some of his favorite memories were going to the Stock car races at the fairgrounds and their chats after working on the yards.

Life wasn't always easy, there were struggles, but he never gave up Hope. He moved in with his mother after his father passed away. They attended church together at Grace Weslyan & Radiant Church.

His wishes were to be cremated and he had already made arrangements with the Veterans Cemetery prior to his passing.

Dave was proceeded in death by his Father Warren & Mother Betty. Left behind to celebrate his life are his sons: Chris and Chuck (Grandchildren Damon Lee & Hailee) Sibling's: Barbara (Wyley) Guthrie, Janet (Phil) Atkinson, Brian (Toni) Breuklander, and Karen (Larry) Hudson. Also, many nieces & nephews.

Interment will be at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery on 07/09/2026 at 2:00 PM.
