David Stephen Brady passed away at home on September 25, 2024.

A 1962 graduate of Knoxville High School, David began his career at Hy-Vee, Super Valu, and Safeway in Des Moines before venturing out to own his own business, Brady's Auto Body. Dave was skilled in auto body work and provided quality work for many years.

He married Sharon Langebartels in July 1964, and together they had three children before the couple separated many years later by divorce.

Dave loved the outdoors, enjoying hunting, fishing, and spending time in nature, especially in southern Iowa.

He is survived by his devoted partner, Robin Jones; daughters Ellie (Rob) McGee and Amy (Shawn) Smith; son Charles (Nicole) Brady; grandchildren Bailey Tinnermeier and Devin McGee; three great-grandsons, Mason, Atlas, and Archer; and his sister Debbie Williams. He is also survived by his longtime childhood friend, David Briggs, with whom he shared a friendship since kindergarten.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Robert (Bob) and Norma Brady; sister Nancy Layne Brady; brother Mike L. Brady; and nephew Shawn Brady.

Services will be held at Simplify Cremations & Funerals, 4821 SW 9th St, Des Moines. The family requests donations to A Heinz 57 Animal Rescue in lieu of flowers.
