Darryl Devon Thomas

Darryl Devon Thomas, age 48, of Ankeny, Iowa, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2026. He was born on October 27, 1977, in Chicago, Illinois, to Arron Davis and Velma Lavelle Thomas.

Darryl spent many years working in the construction industry. He was a hardworking man who took pride in providing for those he loved. Above all, Darryl cherished his family. He enjoyed spending time with them, making memories, sharing laughter, and simply being together. His family was an important part of his life, and the love he had for them will remain a lasting part of his legacy.

Darryl will be deeply missed by his wife, Sheila Thomas; his children, Deiara Kizer, Roy Hunter, Ramone Hunter, and Amanda Thomas; his grandchildren, Roy Hunter Jr., Alaiya Hunter, Amara Hunter, Amora Hunter, Ka'more Aloni Mitchell-Bey, Jamario Deven William, Jayla Hickman -Thomas, and Serenity Kallo-Thomas; and his siblings, Bessie Thomas, Chikira Thomas, Charmisha Myers, and Angela.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Velma Thomas.

Darryl will be remembered for the love he had for his family and the time he shared with those closest to him. He leaves behind cherished memories that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
