Corey Alan Little

Aug 28, 1976 — Sep 30, 2026

Corey Alan Little, 50, of Altoona, Iowa, passed away September 30th in Iowa City surrounded by family. He was born August 28th, 1976 in Des Moines, Iowa.

Corey graduated from Southeast Polk High School in 1994. He then went on to trade school and became an electrician. He later went on to own his own concrete business for many years. His most recent career venture was traveling as a Project Manager building data centers.

He grew up in Des Moines where he made many memories with his brothers and cousins playing sports and riding bikes. He always had a story to tell from the days at 1654 Dean Avenue.

Corey and his love Tara had two children, Brady and Tatum. He was a proud dad from day one and loved being involved in all of their activities. Corey was an amazing baseball coach to Brady and his "biggest hockey fan". Traveling for hockey brought many close friends that became like family. He proudly took on the role of "best dance dad" to Tatum and enjoyed watching her shine on stage. As the children grew up he was filled with so much pride watching them take on their own path as amazing, kind, human beings. Family time at the Lake of the Ozarks was especially meaningful to Corey and created many treasured memories.

Corey also enjoyed football and baseball and was a fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes, Notre Dame, Green Bay Packers, and Minnesota Twins. You would rarely catch him without his white hat and sunglasses, not to mention a smart ass comment to go with. Corey and Tara enjoyed camping and taking trips with the two most recent being South Dakota and Shreveport, Louisiana. As a family, going to the movies and speaking in movie quotes was the "norm". Conversations usually only the four could understand. Corey was also a devoted dog dad to Rudy and Eddy, who could always count on him for a wrestling match followed by plenty of snuggles.

Corey was the son of Larry Davis and Kristine Baldwin. He is preceded in death by his dad Larry, Grandpa and Grandma Baldwin, and Grandpa and Grandma Davis. He is survived by his children Brady Little and Tatum Little; his true love Tara Little; his brothers Mike Little, Scott Little, and Bryan Davis; many nieces, nephews, family and friends who will cherish his memory.

Corey will be remembered as a devoted father who took great pride in showing up for the people he loved. Whether he was cheering on Brady from the stands at a hockey game, supporting Tatum at dance, spending time with family at the lake, camping and traveling with Tara, watching football, or wrestling with Rudy and Eddy, Corey found happiness in being surrounded by those who meant the most to him.

His love for his family and friends and the memories they created will remain a lasting part of his legacy. Corey will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his family, friends and all who knew him.
