Charlene Cooper

Charlene Cooper, a beloved wife, sister, and friend, passed away on December 31, 2023, in Lamoni, Iowa, at the age of 59. Born on April 26, 1964, in Des Moines, Iowa, Charlene was the cherished daughter of Howard Johnson and Charlotte Drake.

She married Jerry Cooper and created a bond that stood the test of time and blossomed with shared joys and sorrows.

A vivacious spirit, Charlene was known for her love of chance, finding joy in the thrill of gambling and the hopeful anticipation of scratch-off tickets. She approached life with an adventurous spirit and a contagious enthusiasm that endeared her to all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Family was paramount in Charlene's life, and she reveled in the moments spent at family gatherings, where laughter echoed and memories were made. Lunch outings with her sisters were a cherished tradition, creating a tapestry of shared stories and sisterly love that will endure in the hearts of those she leaves behind.

Charlene is survived by her loving husband, Jerry Cooper; two sons, Kenny and Cody; two daughters, Kallie and Cassie; two brothers, Ted and Tim; three sisters, Nancy, Jennifer and Cindy and nine grandchildren, Lilly, Addison, Riley, Travis, Khloe, Cooper, Charli, Will and Wes. She leaves behind a legacy of love, joy, and a zest for life that will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

She is preceded in death by her parents; one son, Kevin; one sister, Peggy and one brother, Tom.
