Carol Buckley

Carol Clarice Buckley, 73, of Des Moines, Iowa, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2025. Born on Christmas Day, 1951, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Carol lived a life defined by generosity, kindness, and unwavering devotion to those she loved.

Carol was the beloved wife of William Buckley and the proud mother of Michael Buckley (spouse Katie Meadows), Jennifer Bolter (spouse Chris Bolter), Mandy Buckley-Teppert, and Matthew Buckley (spouse Ashelli Buckley). She was a cherished grandmother to Jacob Bolter, Jacque Bolter, Logan Buckley, Nathan Buckley, Payton Reed, Paige and Chris Head, Dutch Buckley, and her bonus grandchildren, Maguel Polson, Alexis Polson, Jasmine Polson and Zachary McCleary.

She was preceded in death by her parents, M. and C. Boyle and her brother James Boyle.

Carol worked as a baker at Drake University, where her dedication and care touched the lives and sweet tooths of countless students and colleagues. Outside of work, she found joy in the quiet beauty of lighthouses and the calming rhythm of crocheting, hobbies that reflected her thoughtful nature.

Her legacy lives on in the family she held so dear and in the countless lives she enriched simply by being herself.
