Carlos Perry

Carlos Anthony Perry, age 41, of Des Moines, Iowa, passed away on Monday, January 6, 2025. Born in Perry, IA, to Joni Halferty, Carlos was a free spirit who had an undeniable love for motorcycles and big trucks. He often joked that he would ride a motorcycle in the snow if he could, a reflection of his adventurous and bold nature.

Carlos had a unique gift—his smile could light up any room, and his ability to make friends wherever he went was unmatched. He touched many lives with his warmth, kindness, and genuine personality.

He is survived by his daughter, Allison Handley; one sister, Tiffany Sprague; one brother, John (Natasha) Clark; his stepmother, Terri Lightly; nieces, Addlynn and Olivia; nephew, Dallas; and his close friend, Suzette. Carlos was preceded in death by his mother, Joni Lightly, and stepfather, Ricky Lightly.

A celebration of life will be held in Carlos's honor on January 21, 2025, at the Ankeny Free Church, 118 NW Linden St, Ankeny, IA. Doors will open at 5:00 PM, with services beginning at 5:30 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to his daughter, Allison Handley, in his memory.

Carlos will be dearly missed by all who knew him. His legacy of joy, laughter, and friendship will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
