Carl Allen Ferguson, 77, of St Joseph, Missouri and Des Moines, Iowa passed away peacefully on May 22, 2026, in Des Moines, Iowa surrounded by his loving family.

Carl Ferguson was born on October 9, 1948, in Carrollton, Missouri to Harve and Mary Katherine (Wood) Ferguson. Growing up in St Joseph, Missouri and graduating from Central High School, Carl enjoyed sports, hunting, reading, spending time with friends, embracing the outdoors, and working various jobs while searching for his professional passion. He went on to have a long, successful, and loved career with Par Electric which brought him great pride and wonderful relationships. After retiring in 2019, Carl enjoyed spending more time with his family, living part-time in Florida, helping on the family farm, and was able to focus on the simple pleasures of life. Carl loved reading, watching action movies and television shows, working on various projects, farming, hunting, and most importantly, being surrounded by those he loved.

Carl is survived by his children Jamie Ferguson (Donna Bogart), Jeff Ferguson, Katie Ferguson, and Kimberly Ferguson (Noah Burt); his siblings Helen (Ferguson) Gill and Roy Ferguson (Janice Ferguson) ; as well as his 6 grandchildren Logan Ferguson, Jacob Ferguson, Makenna Ferguson, Nicolette Ferguson, Layla Ferguson, and Addisyn Ferguson; one great granddaughter Noa Ferguson; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters Mary Ruth (Ferguson) Martens and Sara (Ferguson) Kline, his brother Robert "Bud" Ferguson, and his niece Dawn Giles.

Carl will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his love of family, his willingness to help others, and the many friendships he built throughout his life. His presence will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2026 from 3:00-9:00 p.m. at the Buchanan County Fairgrounds Gymnasium Event Facility, 301 N. County Park Road Easton, Missouri 64443. Family, friends, and those wishing to give their condolences are invited to attend for the full duration of the event or stop by as their schedule allows. A prayer and message will be given at 4:45 p.m. followed by dinner, fellowship, and an opportunity to share memories and stories beginning at 5:00 p.m. Condolences can also be shared and sent to individual family members.
