Bruce Peterson

Bruce Walter Peterson 81, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2023 at his home in Des Moines Iowa. Bruce was born September 29, 1941 in Omaha, Nebraska to Flora (Lyons) and Walter Peterson.

Bruce was a jack of all trades and enjoyed many hobbies. He owned Gopher Delivery and retired around the age of 75 but never stopped going. Bruce had a big heart and never met a stranger. He was always willing to extend a helping hand and no matter the circumstances he always had an open door and a great big smile.

Bruce is survived by his wife of 26 years, Barbara; sister, Nancy (Chuck) Noyes of Norwalk; daughters, Kristin (Bill) Cox of Newton, Shonda (Steve) Perkins of Moss Point, Mississippi, Penny (Shane) Hiracheta of Des Moines, Iowa; sons, Brett Hoomana, Scott (Shawnie) Peterson, William (Dawn) Peterson, Isaiah Peterson, Caleb Peterson all from Des Moines, Iowa; step-children Darcie, James Wheeler; 24 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren along with a host of extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by his son Brent Peterson, and parents Walter and Flora Peterson.
