Brenda Kay Reed

Brenda Kay Reed, 54, of Des Moines, IA passed away unexpectedly on July 13, 2024 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center.

Brenda was born on July 27, 1969 to Jimmy Dwayne Reed and Susan (Boudinot) Taylor. Brenda was someone with a huge heart, who always thought of others before herself. She was always trying to find ways to take care of her family and friends in any way that she could. Brenda has also had a love for animals, especially her cat, Medusa, and her dog, Sassy. In her free time she was an avid collector of Hello Kitty memorabilia and she loved to read and do ceramics.

Brenda is preceded in death by her father, Jimmy Reed; her uncle, Robert Boudinot; her step-father, Russ Taylor; cousin, Carrie Davis; maternal grandparents, Kenneth and Patricia Boudinot, and paternal grandparents, Glen and Doris Reed.

Those left to cherish Brenda's memory are her mom, Susan Taylor; her fiancé, Steve; her daughter, Alisha Reed; her sister, Barbara Reed; aunt, Rebecca Lester, cousins, Jimmy Davis and Jerry Wilson, her nephews, Cody and Austin Reed, and her niece; Allie Reed.
