Barbara Jean Freeborn

Barbara Jean Freeborn, 63, of Des Moines, Iowa, passed away peacefully on October 23, 2025. Barbara was a caring and loving woman whose kindness touched everyone she met. She worked for many years at Yellow Cab, where she was known for her dependable spirit and friendly smile. In her free time, Barbara enjoyed playing games, crocheting, watching her favorite shows, and spending time with her grandchildren, the joy of her life. Family meant everything to her, and she was happiest when surrounded by those she loved.

She is survived by her husband, Homer; children Corey (Jenee), Christina (Shawn), and Cody (Bre); her eight grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her beloved son Charles "Chucky" Freeborn, her mother Viola, and her father George. Barbara is now reunited in heaven with her loved ones, and her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew her best.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, November 2, 2025 , at Frosbee Park, 6101 Muskogee Ave, Des Moines, IA 50312 , from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM . Family and friends are welcome to come share memories, laughter, and love in honor of Barbara's life.
