Anthony Keiokie Pettaway

Anthony K. Pettaway was born April 5, 1988 in Colorado Springs, CO. As a young kid Anthony played sports for the Police Athletic League. He knew that sports would change his life. Anthony graduated from Sierra HS in 2006, where he still holds Individual and Team Records. Anthony received a full ride to Drake University, and chose Iowa as home for the past 20 years.

Anthony passed away unexpectedly at home in Des Moines. He leaves behind four beautiful children, Leya (13), Maleah (12), Anthony II (10), and Magnus (6); his mother, Wanda Miller; brother and nephew, Creg and Kalil Miller; Grandfather Ervin Pettaway; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. So many people that knew him, loved him.

Anthony was a mentor and protector and touched so many lives with his kind and generous spirit.

He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Bernice K. Pettaway; his cousin, Shareese L. Jacobs; and best friend, Dionte Jackson-Forrest.
