It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Anikia Coleman. Anikia was a vibrant individual who brought happiness, love, and laughter into the lives of all those around her. Her presence was a beacon of warmth in our community, and her absence will be deeply felt. She peacefully passed away on August 3rd, 2024, at the University of Iowa Hospitals, leaving a legacy of warmth that will continue to brighten our hearts. Anikia Deshonda Hall-Coleman was born to Diantha Hall-Robinson on August 8th, 1973, at Broadlawns Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. Raised in Des Moines, she was active in her community and the Church of God in Christ, leaving an indelible mark on all she touched.

Anikia's journey of learning and service began in the Des Moines Public School System, culminating in earning an associate's degree in human services from DMACC. She then embarked on a career as a nursing assistant, where her compassion and dedication shone through in her service. Her love for her family was profound and evident in her son, Da'Mario Hall. She later married Kenneth Coleman, with whom she had two daughters, Ke'Neshia (KeKe) Coleman and Kemonie Coleman.

Her warm and welcoming nature endeared her to many, and her absence leaves a void that cannot be filled.

Anikia was known for her generous spirit, open heart, and gift for making people feel loved and included. She cherished her friendships deeply, especially with her sister Reecie, her best friend, Carmen Banks, and her dear friend Robbie Hobbs. Her boundless kindness led her to prioritize the needs of others selflessly, even opening her home to those in need. Anikia was adored by children and found peace in her final moments, reflecting on her journey. Despite her unwavering grace in battling her illness, she ultimately gained eternal wings.
