Lydia Kay Shipley

Lydia Kay Shipley, 81, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2025.

Lydia was born on November 8, 1943, to Earl and Iona Miller. On September 5, 1959, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Melvin Shipley. Together they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and family.

Lydia had many passions throughout her life. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, and finding treasures while thrifting. She loved reading a good book and cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren. Her gentle spirit and creative heart touched everyone who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Melvin; her son, Melvin (Cas) Shipley; her parents, Earl and Iona Miller; grandson, Dusty; and numerous siblings.

Lydia is survived by her children: Jackie Romine (Steven), Gail Stoddard (Gary), Kimberly Yeager (Bob), and Chris Shipley (Staci). She was also blessed with ten grandchildren and many great-grandchildren who brought her endless joy.

A memorial service and luncheon will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 3, at St. John's Catholic Church in Norwalk.
